Background:
Aviation plays a more prominent role in Sudan as
a transport network, more than in many African
countries because of the geographic nature and
size of the country and its medium but widely
dispersed population. The aviation industry acts
as a catalyst for business, trade and tourism as
well as being an important community resource.
The aviation industry encompasses a wide range
of interested parties ranging from light
aircraft owners through to large international
and domestic carriers as well as trade and
tourism bodies and the traveling public.
The views and needs of these parties are diverse
and, in some cases, conflicting. The marginal
financial position of many small operations,
especially in the general aviation sector,
combined with increasing competition in a
relatively small market place, can represent a
risk to safety. A loss of confidence in the
safety of the aviation could therefore have
major repercussions.
Following a period of community and political
concerns about air safety stemming from several
tragic accidents involving fare -paying
passengers, in the past years, the recognition
of the need to sustain Sudan highly regarded
record of aviation safety. made the measures
taken by government in recent years to be aimed
at consolidating the need for a safe reliable
aviation, and makes it necessary that the
national carrier Sudan Airways company to
service the internal domestic aviation and the
private special flights to further improve the
safety framework that has served the traveling
public so well through out the aviation history
in Sudan.

Now we are fully in control of all Governmental
Aviation Requirements for Domestic, Regional &
International flights, including all
presidential VIP flights.
This is in addition to the day to day motion of
the heads of states – UN- logistics flights to
the western and southern Sudan.
